Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking skilled maintenance professionals for a long-term project in Texas. Expect years of field experience, blueprint interpretation, and the installation of machinery and conveyors.

The role emphasizes alignment, foundation work, and safe operation of tools and equipment. Candidates should read and interpret manuals, dismantle and assemble machinery, and potentially install robotic components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior field experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics and apply shop mathematics.
• Under supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and manuals to determine work procedures.
• Dismantle machines with hand tools.
• Move machinery using hoists, dollies, and rollers.
• Assemble and install equipment using cranes and power tools.
• Construct foundations for machines using basic materials.
• Align machines using hoists, jacks, and measuring tools.
• Possess knowledge of optical and laser alignment.
• Bolt, weld, or fasten machines to foundations or structures.
• Operate engine lathe to grind or modify parts.
• May install robots and modify programs using teach pendant.
• Use transit and level for equipment setting.
• Load, transport, and unload materials and tools.
• Perform lubrication, maintenance, cleaning, or repairs.
• Adhere to safety and project rules.

LONG TERM MAINTENANCE PROJECT - NO PER DIEM

• Typically 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently.
• Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in establishments.

RESPONIBILITIES:

• Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.
• Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools and power tools.
• Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.
• Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
• Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
• Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
• May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
• May install robot and modify its program using teach pendant.
• May use transit and level for equipment setting.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

• Performs other duties as required.

• Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
