TIC - The Industrial Company in Louisiana is seeking a skilled millwright to plan, lay out, install and align equipment according to plans and specifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for millwright's work.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and align machinery and install items.
• Review and verify inventory of equipment and foundation; prepare foundation for grouting and placement; set elevations.
• Torque equipment, rig machinery and direct crane operators; test and adjust installed machinery.
• Dismantle machines and move equipment using hoists, dollies and rollers.
• Assemble and install equipment; align machines with hoists, jacks and plumb bobs; anchor to foundations.
• Estimate sizes, distances and quantities for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate's work for contract compliance and address deficiencies.

Position Summary

Plan, lay‑out, install and align equipment and machinery in accordance with all plans, specifications, tolerances and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Plan, diagram and lay‑out for millwright's work.
• Use hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, assemble and align machinery and install all other items
• Review and verify inventory of equipment/machine components; check accuracy of line and grade of existing foundation; prepare foundation for grouting and/or machinery placement; establish and use centerlines and bench marks; establish proper elevation of subsole and sole plates; set and align machine components; mix and place all types of grout;
• Properly torque equipment and machinery; properly rig equipment and machinery and direct crane operators on placement of same. Test all installed machinery and equipment and make all necessary adjustments and/or repairs, if any.
• Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools; move machinery and equipment using hoist, dollies, rollers and trucks;
• Assemble and install equipment; align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, micrometers and plumb bobs; assemble machines and attach them to foundations or other structures according to project specifications.
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.

Requirements

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• U.S. Driver License may be required
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical
