Job summary

Rex Lumber in Graceville, Florida is seeking a reliable maintenance technician to support our lumber manufacturing operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with repairs to keep production lines running smoothly.

Responsibilities include cleaning, inspecting, dismantling and reassembling machines, following safety procedures, and documenting work orders. A high school diploma or GED and hands-on maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine causes.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE as required.
• Understand and follow oral or written instructions from supervisors.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Complete production tallies and daily reports as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Clean machines and parts using solvents, cloths, air guns, or vacuums.
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair with tools.
• Inspect or test damaged parts and report repairs needed.
• Install or replace machine parts per specifications.
• Lubricate machines and apply adhesives as required.
• Reassemble machines after repair.
• Start machines and monitor operation for efficiency.
• Set up and wire equipment to meet specs.
• Collaborate with coworkers to repair or move machines.
• Follow blueprints, wiring plans and safety regulations.
• Follow lockout procedures and use proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain a clean workstation and comply with safety standards.
