Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Northern California is seeking a skilled Millwright to maintain and repair mechanical parts in a manufacturing facility. The role involves troubleshooting, installing, replacing, and repairing machines, including hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and fabricating parts as needed.

You will assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, perform diagnostic tests, and work varying shifts with overtime during busy production times.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunction, replace parts from stock or fabricate parts as needed.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck.
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
• Perform general maintenance safely and maintain a clean work area.
• Work may include varying shifts and overtime including weekends during busy production times.
