Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a Millwright Foreman to lead a crew in installing machinery per blueprints and drawings. You will guide craft workers, interpret layouts, and ensure safe, efficient operations on site.

You will read blueprints, dismantle and move equipment, install foundations and align machines using precision tools, and may program robots or operate lathes as needed.

Qualifications

  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of blueprints, layouts, and factory installation procedures.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and layouts to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines using hand tools and prepares for installation.
  • Moves machinery with hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks as needed.
  • Assembles and installs equipment using cranes and power tools.
  • Constructs foundations for machines with basic materials and tools.
  • Aligns machines using hoists, jacks, levels, and measuring tools.
  • Possesses knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
  • Assembles machines and bolts or welds them to foundations as required.
  • May operate an engine lathe to finish parts to exact specs.
  • May install robot and modify its program via teach pendant.
  • Loads, transports, and unloads materials and supplies.
  • Performs lubrication and maintenance on tools, machines, and equipment.

Job description

Millwright Foreman- Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to other craft workers in work crew, providing assistance to General Foreman.

SUMMARY

Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in establishments.

Responsibilities
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.
  • Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
  • Assembles and installs equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools and power tools.
  • Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.
  • Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
  • Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
  • Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • May install robot and modify its program using teach pendant.
  • May use transit and level for equipment setting.
  • Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
