Job summary

Innophos is seeking a Millwright for our Chicago Heights, IL plant to repair, adjust, and perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, electrical and mechanical systems. The role spans the plant floor and the maintenance shop with other skilled trades.

The job operates on rotating shifts year-round (1st, 2nd, 3rd). Training starts on 1st shift. Candidates must lift heavy, climb stairs, squat, and work in extreme temperatures; must be willing to work all three shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining production equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical trades: welding (oxyacetylene and arc), pipefitting, machining, auto mechanics, machinery repair, and equipment operations.
• Available for all three rotating shifts.
• Physically able to lift regularly (some heavy), climb stairs, squat, handle tools, and work in extreme temperatures.

Millwright — Innophos

Location: Chicago Heights, IL (on-site)

Job Type: Full-Time, hourly, union position

Pay: $39.43–$43.42/hour per the labor contract, plus shift premium on 2nd and 3rd shifts and overtime

Schedule: Rotating shifts year-round: 1st (7:00 am–3:00 pm), 2nd (3:00 pm–11:00 pm), 3rd (11:00 pm–7:00 am). Training starts on 1st shift. Shift swaps are allowed under site rules.

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor III

About the Role

You'll keep our Chicago Heights plant running: repairing, adjusting, and doing preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, electrical, stationary, and mobile. The work is split between the plant floor and the maintenance shop, alongside other skilled trades.

A Note on the Schedule and the Work

This job rotates through all three shifts throughout the year. The work is physical: heavy lifting, stairs, squatting, and extreme temperatures. The people who fit are tradespeople who like fixing real equipment and are fine with a rotating schedule.

What You'll Do

Compensation & Benefits

• $39.43–$43.42/hour per the labor contract; shift premium on 2nd and 3rd shifts
• Overtime on hours over 8 per day or 40 per week; paid biweekly on Fridays
