Job summary

AA Metals, Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, maintain and repair industrial equipment across the Chance Aluminum facility. You will minimize downtime, read blueprints, and support production with reliable mechanical systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with electricians, engineers, and maintenance staff. This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, working in a noisy environment, and rotating shifts, including weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or Millwright apprenticeship preferred.
• 3+ years experience as industrial Millwright or mechanical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
• Basic welding and metal fabrication skills are a plus.
• Physically able to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the aluminum or metals industry is preferred.
• Working knowledge of CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling is a plus.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and mechanical safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mill systems throughout the facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce outages.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures using manuals and tools.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery to manufacturer specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication equipment for repairs.
• Ensure equipment alignment, leveling, and balancing for safe operation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and maintenance staff to complete repairs.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in CMMS.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and wear PPE.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance equipment performance.
