Job summary

Chance Aluminum is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment across the facility. You will help minimize downtime, ensure reliability, and support a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in mechanical maintenance, strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment, and the ability to read blueprints and use precision tools. OSHA safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial Millwright or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.).
• Basic welding and metal fabrication skills are a plus.
• Physically able to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the aluminum or metals industry is preferred.
• Working knowledge of CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling is a plus.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and mechanical safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mill related systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned outages.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery with precision to manufacturer specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication equipment to make repairs and modifications.
• Ensure equipment alignment, leveling, and balancing for safe and efficient operation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and other maintenance staff to complete repairs and improvements.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, and always wear proper PPE.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and plant productivity.

Millwright Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or Millwright apprenticeship preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as an industrial Millwright or in a mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.).

• Associate degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
• OSHA 30 certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a noisy and physically demanding industrial environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position with possible on-call availability for emergencies.
• Rotating shifts may be required, including weekends and holidays.
