Job Description

The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and alignment of mechanical equipment and systems at various construction sites. This role involves interpreting blueprints, dismantling and reassembling machinery, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment. The Millwright must be physically capable of handling heavy components and willing to travel between job sites as needed to support project demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, modify, and repair mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery in alignment with project specifications and industry standards
  • Dismantle and reassemble mechanical equipment as needed for repair, relocation, or maintenance
  • Transport equipment to and from job sites, ensuring safety and minimizing risk of contamination or workplace hazards
  • Construct solid foundations and secure mounting for machines on-site

Machine Alignment & Calibration:

  • Align, level, and calibrate machinery and components to ensure proper functionality, performance, and safety
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting to identify root causes of mechanical issues and implement effective solutions

Blueprint & Technical Interpretation:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and repair drawings related to construction equipment and mechanical systems
  • Work under general supervision to carry out assigned tasks accurately and efficiently

Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:

  • Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
  • Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
  • 4 years of previous, related work experience required
  • Current Driver's License and have reliable transportation
EXPERIENCE, SKILL AND ABILITIES
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  • Ability to operate equipment, lift trucks in a safe manner
  • Places a high value on workmanship, customer service and satisfaction
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and written
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Employee will lift heavy objects; physically manipulate objects will need strength
  • Employee will travel to construction sites (sometimes multiple sites per day) to meet project-based needs
