Job summary

Constellium Deutschland GmbH is seeking a maintenance technician to install, repair, lubricate and maintain mechanical equipment across the plant. The role requires performing routine PMs, inspections and system tests to ensure continuous operation.

You will read blueprints, interpret schematics and plan work details, including material and tool requirements. Safety and efficiency are emphasized in every task performed on site.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining mechanical equipment and performing routine preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Responsibilities

• Completes records, time cards, PMs requisitions and surveys.
• Performs repairs, inspections and installations of plant equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and schematics for maintenance tasks.
• Operates cranes, mobile equipment and power trucks as required.
• Maintains hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, gas, and cooling systems in good working order.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Install, repairs, lubricates and maintains mechanical apparatus and equipment throughout the plant.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Wrenches, hammers, pliers, burning equipment, small hand tools, cranes, mobile equipment, oil can, grease gun, power trucks, man lift, gauges, pipe cutting, threading and bending machine, stock and dies, levels, bars, power tools, measuring tools, etc.

MATERIALS HANDLED

Machine parts and assemblies, pipe, tubing, hose, grease, oil, cable, rope, chain, jack, tools and equipment to be repaired, fittings, cutting supplies, compressors, filters, lubricants, steam traps, valves, gas, acid, compressed gas cylinders, etc.

WORKING PROCEDURE

• Completes required records, time cards, reports, PM’s requisitions and surveys.
• Perform minor duties that are incidental to their primary job even though those duties are also performed by other classifications.
• Operates power truck, man lift, mobile equipment and cranes in performance of job.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, charts and sketches.
• Performs burning, welding, brazing, heating and soldering as required.
• Plans work details, determines material and tool requirements.
• Repairs tools common to this classification.
• Uses stores catalog and/or computer to requisition materials and transport to work area.
• Makes inspections, repairs and installations.
• By following established routines, installs, tests, repairs, inspects, adjust and maintains in good working order: hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, gas, acid, water, coolant systems, and space heating systems within the plant.
• Repairs, replaces, assembles, disassembles, cleans, and tests valves, piping condensers, heat exchangers, pumps, gas burners and other mechanical mill equipment, etc.
• Changes oil and greases equipment in accordance with standard instructions.
• Replaces and installs lubrication fittings.
• Operates production equipment in conjunction with required maintenance.
• Scrap bearing to close tolerance on equipment.
• Performs precision alignments on coupling gears, etc.
• Keeps equipment, work area and lunchroom in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs duties to maintain filtering equipment.
• May do fabricating work as necessary.
• Perform lock-out and tag-out as required.
• Perform miscellaneous painting in their work area.
• Forms, ties, and/or installs reinforcing steel.
