Job summary

Orion Steel Group is hiring a skilled Millwright in Portland, OR. The role involves repairing, installing and moving heavy machinery, reading blueprints, and aligning equipment with precision tools.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Millwright level or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to set up, tear down, and rebuild machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to operate mobile and bridge cranes.
  • Ability to operate forklift.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools; welding equipment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, troubleshoot, install and move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Read repair documents, manuals, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines and assemble equipment using appropriate tools.
  • Construct foundations for machines and align equipment using precision tools.
  • Weld, bolt and secure machinery to foundations or structures.
  • Maintain track work and bearings; perform crane and mobile equipment repairs.
  • Perform regular maintenance and basic predictive tasks as needed.
