Job summary

Carpenter Co. is seeking a skilled Millwright to perform maintenance and mechanical work in our chemical plant. You will reseal equipment, change bearings, align machinery, and repair air compressors to maintain production reliability.

The ideal candidate holds an NCCER Millwright certification, has at least three years of experience in a chemical plant, and demonstrates strong math and mechanical aptitude. Excellent attendance and adherence to safety and company policies are required.

Qualifications

• NCCER Millwright certification is required.
• At least three years of experience as a Millwright in a chemical plant.
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

• Reseal mechanical equipment in the plant.
• Change out bearings and set proper clearance.
• Align by indicator all mechanical equipment.
• Perform air compressor repairs and routine maintenance.
• Rebuild suction and discharge valves; change rings and bearings and check clearance.
• Disassemble, reassemble and set proper clearances on gear boxes and mixers.
• Disassemble, refurbish and test production/plant equipment systems to specifications.
• Adhere to company rules and policies; maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

• NCCER certified as a Millwright
• Minimum of three year's experience as a Millwright in a chemical plant environment
• Must have good math and mechanical aptitudes
