Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Journeyman Millwright for a fast-paced metals production facility in Michigan. The role focuses on skilled mechanical and electromechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to minimize downtime in a high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Journeyman Millwright license, 3+ years in heavy industrial settings, and strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems. Overtime opportunities and growth await.

Qualifications

• Licensed Journeyman Millwright certification required.
• 3+ years of experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose 3-phase motors, conveyors, and mechanical drive systems.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
• Ability to work multiple shifts; safety and quality are priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment including motors, conveyors, drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery to minimize downtime and maintain production.
• Install, align, and maintain rotating equipment and material-handling systems.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance and inspect machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety/quality procedures.
• Collaborate with production teams to support continuous improvement and equipment optimization.
• Participate in training focused on problem-solving, quality, and equipment upgrades.

Position Overview

The Journeyman Millwright will perform skilled mechanical and electromechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and systems in a fast-paced, high-volume metals production environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment, including motors, conveyors, drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery to minimize downtime and ensure consistent production
• Install, align, and maintain mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and material-handling equipment
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities, documentation, and machine inspections
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow established safety/quality procedures
• Collaborate with production teams to support continuous improvement and equipment optimization
• Participate in training programs focused on problem-solving, quality processes, and equipment upgrades

Qualifications

• Licensed Journeyman Millwright (state-recognized certification required)
• 3+ years of experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, metals, or similar environments
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to diagnose 3-phase motors, conveyors, and mechanical drive systems
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance programs
• Ability to work multiple shifts as needed (shift preference considered)
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
