Superior Skilled Trades is hiring for a direct opportunity with a client in Hackettstown, NJ. The Industrial Maintenance Technician (Millwright) will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, and upgrade food manufacturing equipment to keep production running safely and with minimal downtime.

Based in Hackettstown, NJ, the role offers a night shift from 9pm to 7am with a pay rate of $35–$50 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with millwright, welding, machining, fabrication, electrical, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, plumbing, or compressed air systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial tools, machinery, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to safely work around large, complex industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair industrial equipment including fryers, ovens, packaging machinery, conveyors, boilers, burners, compressors, and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other equipment issues.
• Install, commission, modify, and upgrade new and existing equipment.
• Perform welding, fabrication, machining, plumbing, HVAC, and general millwright work as needed.
• Assist with PLC troubleshooting and control system issues.
• Maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance inventory.
• Work closely with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with outside vendors when specialized support is required.
• Follow all safety, GMP, USDA, SQF, PPE, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.

Pay: $35–$50/hr, based on experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9pm – 7am

Location: Hackettstown, NJ

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair industrial equipment including fryers, ovens, packaging machinery, conveyors, boilers, burners, compressors, and control systems

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other equipment issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance or related technical experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with several of the following: millwright, welding, machining, fabrication, electrical, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, plumbing, or compressed air systems
• Strong understanding of industrial tools, machinery, and maintenance practices
• Ability to safely work around large, complex industrial equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills, including email, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work onsite in Hackettstown, NJ

Preferred Experience

• Industrial food manufacturing or other manufacturing environments
• Trade school or technical training
• Background as a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Electrician, HVAC Technician, Welder, Machinist, or similar skilled trade
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materialsAbility to use ladders and stairs regularly
• Comfortable working in hot, humid, wet, and industrial environments
• Ability to wear required PPE
