Job summary

ATI in Cudahy, WI is hiring an Industrial Millwright Maintenance Technician to support production on 2nd or 3rd shift, with training on 1st shift for 6 months.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 8 years of machine repair/maintenance experience or Journeyman Millwright licensed.
  • Experience with hydraulic, iron worker or industrial maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect mill equipment, conveyors, gear boxes and cranes for maintenance or repair.
  • Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, drills, welding and cutting equipment.
  • Maintain labor hours and preventive maintenance records for future plans.
  • Work in high places and confined spaces.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform removal, installation, alignment, leveling and coupling of rotating equipment.
  • Assist engineering and contractors with capital project work.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

We are seeking an Industrial Millwright Maintenance Technician to work in our Cudahy facility. Industrial Millwright Maintenance Technicians are part of an integral team of quality and technical professionals who take great pride in helping ATI achieve production and quality goals and objectives.

Our Millwrights are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational in order to consistently meet production goals and our customers' needs. Millwrights inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, determine the problem and implement the repair. This position requires an understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and steam systems.

In order to become successful, you must be able to quickly learn ATI, our products, processes and quality standards. This is a 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-7am); however, the new hire will train on 1st shift for 6 months.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect mill equipment, chains, belt conveyors, gear boxes/drive chains and cranes for maintenance or repair
  • Use tools such as forklifts and barrel lifts, aerial lifts, boom trucks, drill presses, burning equipment, welding and cutting equipment, portable drills and grinders, measuring devices, laser pump alignment tools, power tools and miscellaneous hand tools
  • Maintain accurate records such as labor hours and important preventative maintenance findings on work orders for creation of future job plans
  • Work in both high places and in confined spaces
  • Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform tasks such as removal, installation, alignment, leveling and coupling of rotating equipment
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Assist Engineering and/or contractors with capital project work
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 8 years of machine repair, hydraulic repair, iron worker and/or industrial maintenance/millwright experience OR a licensed Journeyman Millwright through a state indentured apprenticeship.
Skills
  • Solid mechanical aptitude of complex mechanical assemblies including precision measurements
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • The knowledge of conventional welding and industrial equipment operations
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • An analytical and detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
