gpac is seeking a Millwork Engineer / Draftsman to support design, drafting, engineering, and CNC production of custom architectural woodworking projects. The candidate will draft AutoCAD shop drawings, interpret plans, and prepare CNC programs using WoodWOP, WoodCAD CAM, and CutRite.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, collaboration with project managers and production teams, and meeting project deadlines in an on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD with strong shop drawing experience.
• Experience drafting for architectural millwork and cabinetry.
• Familiarity with WoodCAD CAM or Microvellum/iX is a plus.
• Experience with CNC programming and translating drawings to production.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review AutoCAD shop drawings for millwork projects.
• Interpret plans and specifications to create accurate drawings.
• Prepare drawings per project specs, field conditions, and feedback.

• Collaborate with PMs, production, engineers, and shop staff.

Millwork Engineer / Draftsman

Location: On-Site Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

We are seeking a Millwork Engineer / Draftsman to join our team and support the design, drafting, engineering, and CNC production of custom architectural woodworking projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong AutoCAD skills and an interest in architectural millwork and CNC manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and review detailed AutoCAD shop drawings for architectural woodworking and millwork projects.
• Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate shop drawings.
• Prepare and modify drawings based on project specifications, field conditions, and client/architect feedback.
• Prepare CNC machine programs using CAD/CAM software such as WoodWOP, WoodCAD|CAM, and CutRite.
• Collaborate with project managers, production teams, engineers, and shop personnel to ensure drawings accurately translate into finished products.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, dimensions, materials, and hardware.
• Assist with troubleshooting design and production issues.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Highly proficient in AutoCAD - this is the primary skill required for the position.
• Experience creating and reviewing shop drawings is strongly preferred.
• Experience with woodworking, cabinetry, carpentry, architectural millwork, or custom fabrication is highly preferred.
• Experience with WoodCAD|CAM or Microvellum/iX is a strong plus.
• CNC programming experience is beneficial, but training can be provided for candidates with strong AutoCAD skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of dimensions, materials, fabrication, and construction methods.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues before production.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks without direct supervision.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Must be team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with production and project management teams.

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM-4:00 PM
• On-site position - not eligible for remote work
• Collaborative environment with opportunities to develop additional CAD/CAM and CNC programming skills.
