Nippon Paint Automotive Americas Inc. is seeking a Milling Operator to manage department mills and production batches in the Milling plant.

The role involves operating KD Dyno Mills, ECM Dyno Mills, Netzsch Turbo Mills, bulk systems, scales/load cells, mixers, and related equipment, with support across Small and Large Paint Plants and Waterbase. 1st shift with possible off-shift training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs, batch tickets, and process sheets.
• Adhere to safety policies and company procedures.
• Operate mills, scales/load cells, mixers, and filling equipment to prepare batches.
• Monitor process parameters and equipment in milling operations.
• Fill finished goods into containers and label per IDs.
• Operate forklift to move materials.
• Participate on improvement teams and submit ideas.
• Identify potential off-quality products and initiate corrective actions.
• Use SAP, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Office to complete orders.
• Maintain housekeeping and testing equipment in the lab and production areas.
• Perform duties in other Operations areas as needed.

Position Summary

A Milling Operator is responsible for the operation of department mills and filling of production batches in the Milling plant. This includes the use of KD Dyno Mills, ECM Dyno Mills, NetzschTurbo Mills, bulk systems, scales/load cells, mixers, drum dumpers and any additional equipment required to complete daily tasks. Position will also support job activities in other Operations areas including, but not limited to Small Paint Plant, Large Paint Plant, Waterbase, & Shading.

Position Responsibilities

• Follows and Adheres to Company Standard Operating Procedures, batch tickets, and process sheets.
• Follows and Adheres to Company Safety Policies
• Operate equipment used to fill batches or clean mill systems: mills, scales/load cells, tank mixers, bulk loading system, filling pumps, filling machines, etc.
• Monitor mills, tanks, and other process parameters & equipment.
• Fill finished goods into proper containers per customer specific IDIOS and make container labels.
• Operate forklift to move materials.
• Participate on improvement teams and submit ideas.
• Identifies potential off-quality products during the process and initiates appropriate corrective actions through established company abnormal process.
• Utilizes company IT equipment such as SAP, Microsoft Access Database, & Microsoft Office to complete orders in the Milling process.
• Maintains housekeeping within the lab and production areas.
• Maintains all testing equipment.
• Perform job activities in Operations areas outside of Milling as required.
• Move waste from generation point to 90-day Storage Area
• Properly close and label waste containers using NB Coatings procedures

Position Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries, and/or complaints
• Displays courtesy, tact and respect when dealing with others.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to wear a respirator/all necessary PPE – including being clean shaven for respirator use
• Ability to work with isocyanate

• Manufacturing industry experience preferred
