Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts in Lincoln is seeking a part-time Miller Time Pub & Grill server to deliver memorable experiences. You will greet guests, explain beer programs and specials, learn the menu and beer pairings, take and enter orders into POS, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining area throughout shifts.

The role emphasizes guest engagement, accurate handling of beverages, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospitality environment at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to communicate with guests, take orders, understand the menu, and promote specials.
• Ability to memorize entire menu items and pairings.
• Ability to transport trays through a crowded room on a continuous basis.
• Adherence to liquor regulations regarding minors and intoxicated guests.
• Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.

• Learn all menu items and beer pairings.
• Take orders, memorize drinks and taps, and enter orders into POS system.

• Replenish beverages, check back with guests for satisfaction.
• Present the check promptly and invite guests to return.
• Perform general cleaning tasks per supervisor guidelines to meet health standards.

What will you be doing?

• Greets guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner and explains the Beer Program, all specials, promotions, and specific Miller Time Pub and Grill features.


• Must learn all menu items and the ability to understand the pairing of the beer with those menu items.


• Takes orders, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested, requires memorization of all available drinks, beer, and taps.


• Inputs orders into Point of Sale system to inform bartender and the HOH of orders that need to be made.


• Maintains cleanliness of Guest tables and assists with the bar area.


• Replenishes beverages as requested, frequently checking back with Guest to inquire about satisfaction.


• Presents the Guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return in a friendly demeanor.


• Performs general cleaning tasks, using standard cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.

What you will bring to the role?

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.


• Ability to speak, read, and write the English language to communicate with the guest, take orders, understand the menu, and promote specials.


• Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.


• Ability to transport trays through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.


• Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.


• Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift.


• Work as a team player.


• Ability to remain motivated during busy and slow periods within shift.


• Cash handling and self-banking position, requires ability to maintain funds, and accurately count back change.


• Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
