Join to apply for the Mill Tech - Caster role at Steel Dynamics, Inc.

Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in the facility. Works closely with Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, Millwrights, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to achieve production goals. Focuses on safety and assists operations to ensure uptime and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Assist shift millwright with preventative maintenance, rounds, and breakdowns
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Communicate effectively within the team
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
• Respond to emergency breakdowns
• Perform mechanical maintenance
• Apply mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge
• Fabricate using torching, welding, rigging, bearings, couplings, and interpret print reading
• Read technical documents and schematics (preferred)
• Utilize computer skills including Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic principles (preferred)
