Job summary

Precision Medical Technologies, Incorporated in Indiana seeks a Programming Engineer to provide technical leadership across CNC programming, cost estimates, manufacturing methods, and process optimization. You will help ensure efficient production and maintain quality standards.

The role requires blueprint literacy (GD&T), Mastercam experience, and collaboration with Machinists and the Scheduler to meet schedules.

Qualifications

  • CNC Machining Experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints including GD&T
  • Master Cam experience

Responsibilities

  • Generate accurate cost estimates for RFQs as directed.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, including process sheets and tooling requirements.
  • Utilize CNC programming skills to generate efficient programs for machining operations.
  • Develop in-process inspection sheets based on criteria and part characteristics.
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, assisting Machinists with setup and running.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with Scheduler to meet schedule targets while maintaining quality.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives, including ISO registration and safety compliance.
  • Provide leadership in shop safety and training on setup and machine operation.
  • Stay updated with technical advancements through continuing education.

Position Summary

The role of Programming Engineer is pivotal in providing technical expertise across various aspects including cost estimates, manufacturing methods, process optimization, and CNC programming. This position is integral in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential Functions Of Position)

  • Generate accurate cost estimates for Requests for Quotation (RFQs) as directed.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, including creating process sheets, specifying material requisitions, and identifying tooling requirements.
  • Utilize CNC programming skills to generate efficient programs for machining operations.
  • Develop in-process inspection sheets based on customer-provided criteria and critical part characteristics.
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, including assisting Machinists with setup and running of assigned jobs as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance productivity through workplace organization, standardizing setups, and programs, among other methods.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduler to identify alternative processing methods to meet schedule targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives, including ISO registration and adherence to the Quality Statement.
  • Provide leadership in shop safety and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide training on setup and machine operation to Machinists to support their professional development.
  • Stay updated with technical advancements relevant to the company's interests through continuing education and skill enhancement.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • CNC Machining Experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints including GD&T
  • Master Cam experience
