Job summary

Farm Service Elevator is seeking a Mill Operator for a full-time day shift in Minnesota. The role runs 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday with Saturday rotation. Starting wage is $21.72–$25.04 per hour, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include batching, pelleting, adding medications, maintaining logs, and ensuring safety and quality in feed production. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma/GED, knowledge of preventative maintenance, agricultural experience, and the ability to lift

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Boiler license preferred or ability to acquire promptly.
• 1–2 years of agricultural experience preferred.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Time management and organization skills.
• Experience operating skid loader and forklift.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds, occasional bending and lifting; stand for long periods; climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Make safe, quality feed by batching and pelleting; ensure medication is added correctly.
• Ensure downstream ingredients are applied correctly and finished feed stored properly.
• Fill bins with correct bagged ingredients; maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance.
• Complete logs in accordance with SQF code; comply with safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Provide high level of customer service; operate equipment safely.

Farm Service Elevator has a full-time opportunity in the role of Mill Operator. An affiliate of Life-Science Innovations,Farm Service Elevator processes 6.5 million bushels of corn to manufacture over 350,000 tons of poultry feed sold primarily to commercial farms and independent poultry growers throughout Minnesota.

Summary ofResponsibilities:

• Responsible for making safe, quality feed including but not limited to:
  • Ensure feed is batched and pelleted correctly
  • Ensure medication is added to feed correctly
  • Ensure downstream ingredients are applied correctly
  • Ensure finished feed is stored correctly
  • Filling bins with correct bagged ingredients
• Ensure housekeeping and preventative maintenance is completed
• Responsible for completing logs according to SQF code
• Willing to work in adverse weather conditions and heights
• Provides a high level of customer service
• Ensures equipment is in safe operating condition and operates all machinery in compliance with FSE safety and OSHA guidelines

This is a Day shift position 7 AM - 5 PM Monday - Friday and will be in a Saturday rotation depending on needs.

The Ideal Candidate Summary:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Special Boiler License preferred. Or ability to acquire within a timely manner.
• 1-2 years of work experience in an agricultural setting preferred.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs
• Time management and organization skills
• Experience operating skid loader and fork lift
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to lift 60 pounds, occasional bending and lifting required; able to stand on feet for extended periods of time; climb ladders frequently
