Job summary

Farm Service Elevator in Minnesota is seeking a Mill Operator for a full-time day shift (7 AM–5 PM, Mon–Fri with occasional Saturday rotation). You will batch and pellet feed, ensure medication is added correctly, and maintain safe operations under FSE safety and OSHA guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1–2 years in agriculture, and experience with skid loaders and forklifts; boiler license a plus. Must lift 60 lbs, stand long hours, and commit to quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Special Boiler License preferred or ability to acquire quickly.
• 1-2 years of work experience in an agricultural setting preferred.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Time management and organization skills.
• Experience operating skid loader and forklift.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds, stand for extended periods and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Make safe, quality feed by batching and pelleting correctly.
• Ensure medication is added to feed correctly.
• Ensure downstream ingredients are applied correctly.
• Ensure finished feed is stored correctly.
• Fill bins with correct bagged ingredients.
• Complete housekeeping and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain logs according to SQF code.
• Willing to work in adverse weather and heights.
• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Ensure equipment is safe and operated in line with safety guidelines.

Farm Service Elevator has a full-time opportunity in the role of Mill Operator. An affiliate of Life-Science Innovations,Farm Service Elevator processes 6.5 million bushels of corn to manufacture over 350,000 tons of poultry feed sold primarily to commercial farms and independent poultry growers throughout Minnesota.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Responsible for making safe, quality feed including but not limited to:
  • Ensure feed is batched and pelleted correctly
  • Ensure medication is added to feed correctly
  • Ensure downstream ingredients are applied correctly
  • Ensure finished feed is stored correctly
  • Filling bins with correct bagged ingredients
• Ensure housekeeping and preventative maintenance is completed
• Responsible for completing logs according to SQF code
• Willing to work in adverse weather conditions and heights
• Provides a high level of customer service
• Ensures equipment is in safe operating condition and operates all machinery in compliance with FSE safety and OSHA guidelines

This is a Day shift position 7 AM - 5 PM Monday – Friday and will be in a Saturday rotation depending on needs.

The Ideal Candidate Summary
