Job summary

Imerys is seeking a full-time production operator to join our mineral milling team in Tennessee. You will review blueprints, set up milling runs, and adjust controls to meet precise specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role requires experience with computerized milling controls, routine equipment maintenance, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Team support and basic maintenance tasks are also expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift and workplace examinations prior to operation.
• Study blueprint, layout and specifications to determine crude clay needs and operations.
• Operate controls to meet set specifications and start machines.
• Adjust feed, speed, and tools; address faults or malfunctions.
• Conduct in-process product testing and record results in quality reports.
• Observe operations and fine-tune controls to maintain spec tolerances.
• Grease basic equipment while the mill is idle and assist with cleaning.
• Support other departments and maintenance activities as needed.

Job Summary

Job Description Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-shift and workplace examination prior to operation.
• Study blueprint, layout, and other specifications to determine crude clay needs, sequence of operations, and dimensions.
• Move controls to set specifications and start machine.
• Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls as needed or when automatic programming is faulty/ machines malfunction.
• Perform in-process product testing to ensure quality according to set specifications.
• Record test results on quality report submitted to lab.
• Observe machine operation and use quality tests (with emphasis on moisture & grind) to make adjustments to controls/ crude mix to ensure conformance within specification tolerances and efficient machine operation.
• Perform basic equipment greasing while mill is not in operation.
• Assist other departments, dump hoppers, cleaning feeder tanks, and maintenance as needed.
