Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Mill Operations Supervisor at Fort Knox near Fairbanks, AK. You will lead and train the Mill Operations crew to operate the mill and related systems safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental policies.

Your responsibilities include coaching staff, conducting evaluations, maintaining records, generating repair work orders, and coordinating with Maintenance, Warehousing, and Mine Supervisors to ensure smooth production and a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• Two years' previous mill operations crew experience required.
• General knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions.
• Must be production orientated.
• Good working knowledge and skills with a PC utilizing word processing and spreadsheet programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations at the mill, crusher, and related support systems.
• Work with operators in all facets of process training, understanding, safety, and general work practices.
• Prepare and conduct performance evaluations, recommend promotions, and carry out disciplinary actions as needed.
• Investigate, analyze, and supervise the documentation of accidents, injuries, and equipment damage.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Generate work orders for repair or modification of operation equipment; perform or supervise minor repairs as needed.
• Communicate with other department supervisors that support mill activities.
• Develop personnel by training and example.
• Possess a valid driver's license and ensure safety compliance.
