Job summary

Morton Salt, Inc. is seeking a Mill Manager to lead the Pellets, Bemis, Flake & Mesh operations across Industrial, Food grade and Pharmaceutical salt production in our facility.

The role requires strong leadership to drive safety, quality and cost performance. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (or 10+ years of salt manufacturing experience) and at least 5 years of supervisory experience, with proficiency in MS Office and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or 10+ years salt manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAP preferred.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversees environmental, health, safety (EHS) and GMP practices for mill operations.
• Directs Mill Operations and ensures performance of the Pellets, Bemis, Flake & Mesh units.
• Sets and achieves unit KPIs and manages area budget, volume, and product quality.
• Manages department project capital budgets and equipment reliability.

The Mill Manager directs and coordinates activities of the Mill (Pellets, Bemis, Flake & Mesh) of Industrial, Food grade and Pharmaceutical grade salt by performing the tasks listed below either personally or through hourly bargaining unit employees.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensures environmental, health, and safety (EHS), and General Management Practices (GMP) performance and compliance
• Accountable for the Mill Operations
• Establishes and ensures achievement of all unit key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Manages area budget/cost, volume, and quality.
• Manages department project capital budget.
• Manages equipment and process reliability.
• Performs other related duties, as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical degree is strongly preferred or ten (10) plus years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ salt manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisor experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Proficient in SAP-preferred
