Job summary

Five Rivers Cattle Feeding in Texas seeks a skilled maintenance technician to uphold mill operations by inspecting machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing equipment to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, coordinating downtime, complying with OSHA/EPA, and ensuring safety. Strong electrical and boiler knowledge, mechanical ability, and ability to read safety manuals are required. This is an hourly, ag-exempt full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize mill maintenance by visually inspecting machinery for proper functioning (electrical, batching, boilers, and liquid tanks).
• Perform preventative maintenance using a computerized work order system and carry out maintenance tasks.
• Maintain maintenance records documenting observations, work performed, and parts used.
• Maintain parts inventory by communicating needs and organizing parts.
• Schedule downtime or after-hours maintenance work and contract work.
• Assist in duties as needed (receiving, flaking, loader operation).
• Participate in daily housekeeping and keep millwork areas clean and organized.
• Comply with OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations and maintain compliance records.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.

REPORTS TO: Feedmill Manager and Assistant Feedmill Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Ag-exempt

FUNCTION: Ensures mill operation by inspecting machinery and performing maintenance/repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifies and prioritizes mill maintenance by visually inspecting machinery for proper functioning (includes: electrical, batching, boilers, and liquid tanks)
• Performs preventative maintenance by utilizing a computerized work order system and carrying out maintenance tasks.
• Maintains maintenance records by documenting observations, work performed, and parts used.
• Maintains parts inventory by communicating parts needed and organizing parts.
• Schedules downtime or after-hours maintenance work and necessary contract work.
• Works in various capacities when another employee is absent or as necessary (may include: receiving, flaking, and loader operation).
• Participates in daily housekeeping, including cleaning and organizing millwork areas.
• Complies with applicable OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations; maintains appropriate compliance records.
• Complies with applicable safety rules and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
