The Mill Machinist Lead is responsible for the planning, organizing, and scheduling of the Mill group at the Avalign Integrated Medical Solutions (IMS) facility located in Mentor, Ohio. The focus will be to provide total customer satisfaction based on quality and delivery utilizing “Best in Class” manufacturing techniques.

What You'll Do:

  1. Lead the day-to-day activities of Swiss and/or Mill group.
  2. Assist with setups and machine operation as required.
  3. Schedule direct labor operators to meet production schedule and OTD requirements along with maximizing machine utilization.
  4. Monitor ERP transactions and ensure accuracy.
  5. Monitor equipment performance and preventative maintenance and work with operations manager / maintenance team to address issues.
  6. Coordinate with production control team on schedule on a regular basis to ensure alignment.
  7. Collect operational data, analyze, and report out as needed to provide details on work cell/zone performance.
  8. Engage with CI and Engineering groups on process improvement activities.
  9. Engage in technical problem solving in conjunction with other groups.
  10. Accountability for quality of product.
  11. Involvement in training of work cell/zone staff.
  12. Establish/Maintain 6S philosophy and mindset.
  13. Assist Operations Manager with short to medium term planning of manufacturing strategy.
  14. Responsible for ensuring compliance to quality standards that satisfy corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements in various areas including, but not limited to, our quality system, GMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, and EPA.
  15. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalence and/or 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing/machining environment.
