Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) seeks a Mill Controller for the Gladstone, VA Riverville Paper Mill to direct accounting and financial activities. The role oversees payroll, payables, receivables, financial reporting, and IT needs, guiding short- and long-term planning to improve mill results.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CMA preferred), 8+ years in accounting management, 5+ years supervisory experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/accounting software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA/CMA preferred.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of accounting management experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory management experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP concepts and internal controls.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Direct accounting and financial affairs of the mill and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with PCA policies and applicable laws.
• Oversee month/year-end closings and balance reconciliations.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Provide guidance and training to accounting staff and staff involved in accounting activities.
• Collaborate with internal audit and address AFR findings.
