Job summary

PTC is a leading manufacturer of welded and drawn tubing, located in Liberty, TX. We are hiring a Slit Coil Operator to stage coils, feed strips to the un-coiler, and control strip edges during the slitting.

Responsibilities include keeping the mill supplied, recording strip gauge, operating coil car, checking coil specs, and maintaining a safe, clean work area. Forklift and crane certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift and crane certifications.
• Ability to learn ERP and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep mill supplied with slit coils.
• Record strip gauge.
• Operate coil car and turn coil to lean on un-coiler.
• Check all coils for proper specifications (heat, grade, gauge, width, supplier).
• Fill out coil production report.
• Notify production supervisor of any problems with equipment or production.
• Assist in roll changes and breakdowns.
• Identify any quality problems in material.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly.
• Maintain safe work procedures.
