Compass Group in Indiana is seeking a part-time Diet Technician to join the Nutrition Team in an acute care medical center. You will assist the Dietitian with data collection, screening, and menu planning, while helping patients with menu choices.

The role requires a Nutrition-related bachelor's degree and hospital experience is preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and nutrient analysis software is expected.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related Science, required
• One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred
• Microsoft Office applications, EMR and diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming skills

Responsibilities

• Assists the Dietitian with patient data collection, nutrition screening, and modified menu planning
• Assists patients in completing menu selections
• Follows all guidelines within the Diet Manual and Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
• Complies with regulatory standards including federal, state, and accrediting agencies, HIPAA, patient rights policies
• Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs and QA/PI programs

Key Responsibilities

• Assists the Dietitian with patient data collection, nutrition screening, and modified menu planning
• Assists patients in completing menu selections
• Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
• Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
• Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related Science, required
• One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
