Job summary

Morrison Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Diet Technician (FT) to join our Nutrition Team in an acute care medical center. The successful candidate will assist the Dietitian with patient data collection, nutrition screening, and modified menu planning.

You will help patients complete menu selections, follow the Diet Manual and Clinical Nutrition Policies, and support quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• CDR-registered Diet Technician preferred; licensure not mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related Science is required.
• One year hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMR, and nutrient analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietitian with patient data collection and nutrition screening.
• Assist patients with menu selections.
• Follow the Diet Manual and Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy rules.
• Mentor patient services staff and interns as applicable.
• Participate in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and QA/PI programs.

Job Details: Safety net hospital serving a diverse population in the heart of Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be a dietetic technician, registered who enjoys providing nutrition education in group settings. Our outpatient DTR, will provide instruction on diabetes, weight management, and CKD with the potential to expand into other areas. Other duties include but are not limited to: inpatient cross coverage, creating educational handouts, assisting with patient scheduling, and data analysis.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Diet Technician (FT) to join our Nutrition Team in an acute care medical center in Los Angeles, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists the Dietitian with patient data collection, nutrition screening, and modified menu planning
• Assists patients in completing menu selections
• Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
• Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
• Trains and mentor's patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications:

• Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related Science, required
• One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
