Job summary

K. L. BREEDEN & SONS LLC in Lubbock, TX is seeking an Entry level Truck Driver to perform short haul trailer positioning, yard work, and dock spotting, including moving loads between off-yard locations.

You will operate tractors at designated doors, secure trailers, complete work reports, keep the cab clean, and maintain a professional demeanor with customers. A Commercial Driver's License and ability to read/write in English are required; 3 months of driving experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess Commercial Drivers License and read/write in English.
• Minimum three (3) months or more experience operating trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor in yard and street movement of trailers between designated locations.
• Safely and efficiently maneuver empty and loaded trailers into and out of loading docks.
• Make over the road deliveries or pickups of loads as assigned (some terminals).
• Accurately follow instructions to position trailers at the proper door location.
• Inspect tractor and report damage or broken equipment.
• Complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.

Description

Responsible for short haul positioning of trailers to and from locations on and off the terminal yard, as well as the spotting of trailers at loading docks. Also may be assigned to move loads to and from off-yard locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a tractor in both yard and street movement of trailers between designated locations
• Safely and efficiently maneuver empty and loaded trailers into and out of loading docks
• Make over the road deliveries or pick-ups of loads as assigned (some terminals)
• Accurately follow instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location
• Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights,
• Inspect tractor for damage or broken equipment
• Report trailer damage or broken equipment
• Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.
• Clean and tidy the truck and work area
• Such other driver duties as may be assigned
• Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times
• Other duties as assigned
