Job summary

Amentum is seeking a vehicle electrician to perform electrical repairs and maintenance on USAF fleet vehicles and equipment in a demanding maintenance environment. You will interpret wiring diagrams, use test equipment and perform Limited Technical Inspections to determine causes and cost of repairs.

The role requires at least three years of experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years’ experience as a vehicle electrician.
• Formal training/apprenticeship in electrical engineering preferred.
• Ability to read safety instructions, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Must speak, read and write English; valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, tests, repairs and maintains electrical systems on heavy, light and special purpose vehicles and MHE.
• Uses wiring diagrams and test equipment; interprets diagrams and applies service information.
• Charge and repair air conditioning systems.
• Conducts Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) and determines causes, parts and costs.
• Repairs or replaces parts and assemblies; realigns and adjusts systems.
• Troubleshoots, calibrates and times electrical systems using diagrams, manuals and tools.
• Performs preventive maintenance per PWS; renews oils, filters and lubricants.
• Keeps stock of charged batteries and maintains battery charging room.
