Qualifications

• Editing, proofreading, and fact-checking products for accuracy, consistency, and conformity to style and tone across digital, web, and multimedia platforms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office365 and Adobe suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Review, edit, and proofread courseware, quizzes and exams, scripts, faculty development materials, and online content for grammar, mechanics, clarity, conciseness, consistency, organization, and conformity to established style guides.
• Review and edit products targeted to different audiences in a variety of areas including administration, communications, military concepts, leadership, and ethics.
• Paginate courseware and assemble original course books and exams electronically.
• Convert text type files into mobile e-book-compatible files, e.g., Moodlebooks.
• Reformat Government or commercial courseware into MS Word and Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) formats, obtaining any necessary copyright permission, and maintaining an archive of copyright permissions requested and completed.
• Work collaboratively with CDET staff, curriculum developers, media specialists, and students to provide writing and composition advice/assistance and instruction.
• Conduct anti-plagiarism software checks on written assignments.
• Provide support to the CDET online writing center including development of online writing tools and courses for students and faculty.
