Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families at military installations in Winston-Salem, NC. The role covers budgeting, education, and referrals, including virtual counseling when needed.

You will work with installation leadership and deliver classes across the military lifecycle, ensuring DoD-aligned guidance and confidential, high-quality support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Able to obtain Tier 2 background investigation.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling to service members and families.
• Assist with budgeting for extended absences and deployments.
• Develop and share informational financial materials.
• Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic communication modes.
• Follow DoD protocol for duty to warn and supervision.
• Collaborate with installation leadership and participate in contract activities.
