Job summary

Intelligence Federal is seeking a Paralegal with military justice/court experience to support high-profile military commission proceedings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The role involves legal research, litigation support, and court reporting in a secure federal environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance (sponsorship for upgrade from Secret possible).
• Minimum of 2 years paralegal experience in military/JAG environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff.
• Assist attorneys and investigators in hearings, briefings, and meetings on legal matters.
• Conduct factual and legal research for investigations.
• Draft legal documents such as correspondence, complaints, and briefs.
• Schedule interviews, hearings, witnesses, depositions, and related discussions.
• Investigate claims or potential cases; review facts and interview witnesses.
• Perform court reporting and paralegal support during trials.
• Other paralegal duties as assigned.

Intelligence Federal is a respected government contractor and seeks a Paralegal with military justice/court experience for an opportunity to support the Office of Military Commissions. This team of Paralegals works in support of high-profile military commission proceedings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by providing critical legal research, litigation support, and court reporting services. This role plays a key part in every phase of the trial process, ensuring the accurate documentation, organization, and management of sensitive case records, including classified materials. Working alongside attorneys, judges, and legal teams, you’ll help maintain the integrity of complex legal proceedings in a secure federal environment.

This is a fully onsite position working in Alexandria, VA. Travel to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba will be required for up to three (3) weeks at a time to assist with court proceedings.

JOB DUTIES:

• Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a US Citizen

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. (If you currently have a Secret level clearance, we are open to sponsoring an upgraded clearance.)

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in a military and/or JAG environment. (Due to the strict requirements of the position, we cannot consider applicants without this experience. Please make sure this experience is clear on your resume.)

• Must be willing to travel for up to 3 weeks at a time to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

• Must be a fast typist and willing to do court reporting and transcription work

• Must exhibit a high level of discretion and personal decorum

• Ability to conduct factual and legal research.

• Knowledge of Paralegal Methods, Practices, and Procedures.

• Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
