Job description

To be eligible to enlist in the U.S. Navy, candidates must be between the ages of 18-34.

These careers bring expertise in all facets of Information Operations, ensuring our fleet capitalizes on the information vulnerabilities of our adversaries. Candidates seeking careers in this field should preferably have a degree in areas such as international relations, political science, government, engineering, physical science, natural science, computer science, or other related fields.

INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION SECURITY CAREERS IN THE NAVY

  1. INTELLIGENCE OFFICER: Analyze top-secret information, interpret spy reports, and direct the analysis of satellite imagery. Use keen analytical abilities to perceive patterns in internet chatter and ascertain the implications of the latest intelligence.
  2. CRYPTOLOGIC WARFARE OFFICER: Develop warfighting options, advise decision-makers, and achieve military objectives in cyberspace with deep understanding of codebreaking and cyber battlespace.
  3. CYBER WARFARE ENGINEER: Design, develop, test, and evaluate software and firmware for Cyberspace Operations, applying principles of computer science and engineering to defend vital networks.
  4. INFORMATION PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: Lead teams to operate, maintain, and secure communication networks worldwide, assist with top-secret cyberwarfare missions, and discover tactical and strategic advantages afloat and ashore.
