Job summary

Magellan Federal in Terre Haute, IN seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial guidance to service members and their families. The role covers budgeting for extended absences, development of educational materials, and delivery of Personal Financial Management classes on military installations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), 3+ years in financial counseling, and U.S. citizenship with English fluency; Spanish may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicises and provides Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, chat, video) when appropriate.
• Manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and training.
• Participates in regular in-services/training and other contract activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
