Job summary

Magellan Federal is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor at Moffett Federal Airfield, CA, to deliver comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families at military installations. The role includes one-on-one counseling, briefings, and developing spending plans; virtual counseling may be used as needed.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent with experience), 3+ years in financial counseling, US citizenship and fluent English (bilingual Spanish a plus),

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• US citizenship and fluent English.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
• Be able to obtain a Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the OCI disclosures process.
• Certifications AFC/CFP/ChFC required.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Manages virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
• Adheres to DoD protocols and communicates with leadership.
• Participates in training and contract activities as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.
