Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. seeks a Personal Financial Counselor in Marysville, WA to provide counseling to military service members and families on bases.

You will develop and deliver financial education, coordinate workshops, and prepare materials to support financial wellbeing. The role requires 3+ years of counseling experience, a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent in combination with work experience), US citizenship, and English fluency; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Associate degree + 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's.
• High school diploma + 6 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must have AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
• Develops and conducts Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Creates informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinates with POCs to ensure program scope meets installation needs.
• Utilizes virtual counseling or electronic modes of communication when applicable.
• Adheres to DoD protocol for duty to warn.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision and trainings.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
