Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Vista, NV, invites participants for its Military Fellowship Program. The program allows active-duty service members to gain real-world experience through up to six months of on‑the‑job training, preparing them for full‑time civilian roles.

Participants will work on constructing and maintaining electronic, mechanical, and optical systems while ensuring compliance with specifications. Qualifications

  • Must be currently serving on active duty and eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Previous experience or certifications within the aerospace and defense industry are preferred.

Overview

SNC’s Military Fellowship Program partners with SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for active‑duty service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. Participants gain experience and build professional networks to prepare for full‑time civilian work.

Responsibilities
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and maintain electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure equipment and components meet established specifications.
Qualifications

Must be currently serving on active duty and eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program.

  • Associate’s degree in a related field (a higher degree may substitute for experience).
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Proficiency with standard laboratory test equipment, measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience or certifications within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other 3‑D CAD software.

Security Clearance
