Job description

Overview

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. The fellowship includes up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members, during which participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for full‑time civilian work. The program is only available to individuals currently serving on active duty; it is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.

Electrical Engineers at Sierra Nevada Corporation research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting‑edge products and services. The role involves conceptualizing and designing new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle, from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems. The Mission Solutions and Technologies team provides affordable, turn‑key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide, supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains.

Qualifications
  • Currently serving as active duty military and eligible to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program.
  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; typically 2 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with computer‑aided engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
  • Background in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience composing and analyzing electrical load analysis (ELA), circuit modeling, simulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with design requirements related to high‑intensity radiated field (HIRF) and indirect effects of lightning (IEL).
  • Knowledge of industry‑standard electrical design principles, including model‑based definition, component selection, manufacturing and production processes.
  • Understanding of electro‑magnetic effects (EME), including EMC and EMI.
  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
  • Understanding of printed circuit board layout process and tools.

The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for employment. The DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process.

This posting will be open for application for a minimum of five days and may be extended based on business needs.
