As a Skillbridge Intern at GE Healthcare, you'll partner with customers to impact patient lives, represent our life-changing products, drive customer satisfaction through excellent service, and assist healthcare professionals with innovative medical technologies.

The Military DoD SkillBridge program offers Service members valuable civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. It connects Service members with industry partners for real-world job experience under DoD Instruction 1322.29. Participants can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty with proper approval. GE Healthcare, as a SkillBridge partner, provides training and work experience in in-demand fields, allowing evaluation of the Service member’s suitability for the work. Participants continue to receive military pay and benefits and are not compensated by GE Healthcare.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, perform repairs, and conduct planned maintenance, safety, and environmental inspections, maintaining effective customer relations and documentation.
  • Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction, supporting business goals.
  • Assist experienced technicians on complex repairs and work as part of a local team to deliver efficient service.
  • Document repairs, manage inventory, and oversee vendor service processes in compliance with GE policies.
  • Care for spares, tools, and test equipment, ensuring calibration and safety standards are met.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, perform various physical tasks, and have good vision and dexterity
  • Limited relocation distance without approval
  • Complete required training and report quality or compliance concerns promptly

  • Experience interpreting schematics, troubleshooting, and maintaining biomedical or electronic equipment
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Experience working with internal teams and external customers in a solution-based service environment
