Providing pastoral care ministry and counseling to those of faith and those of no faith, Air Force chaplains support the spiritual resilience of our Airmen worldwide. As spiritual leaders, chaplains are relied upon for faith and personal guidance, and they also advocate for Airmen and consult with leadership on moral, ethical, and quality-of-life issues.
The responsibilities include:
Qualifications, Education, and Training
Pastoral Ministry Experience: Two years of religious ministry leadership.
Denominations include Christian Protestant, Muslim, Jewish, Orthodox Christian, Roman Catholic, and other faith groups.
Additional Requirements:
Personnel Status: Officer. When joining the chaplain corps, you will be commissioned as an officer, with rank based on education and experience.
