Job summary

Nexus Family Healing in Rochester, MN is seeking a Milieu Supervisor for the Southeast Regional Crisis Center (SERCC). The role leads trauma-informed milieu practices, coordinates daily operations, and schedules staff to support youth and families during mental health crises.

This full-time, 2nd shift position (3pm–11:30pm, some weekends) is on-site and offers comprehensive benefits including PTO, health insurance, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) match, and family wellness programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related industry.
• Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license; meet state driving requirements.
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities.
• Open to meeting cultural needs (language, traditions, values).
• Must pass DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Staff Scheduling & Coverage: Create staff schedules to ensure coverage and safety; step in as needed.
• Staff Oversight: Monitor performance, coach and mentor staff, ensure trauma-informed practices.
• Daily Operations: Plan daily activities, transportation, family visits, events to support goals.
• Documentation & Communication: Complete shift reports and client updates; share with appropriate people.
• Client Support: Ensure new clients are welcomed and needs (clothing, food, appointments) are met.
• Team Leadership: Assign primary staff, support staff development, participate in hiring and training.
• Performance Management: Conduct evaluations, address issues with HR/clinical leaders.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct safety checks, stay updated on policies and training.
• Confidentiality: Maintain privacy and respect cultural differences.

Nexus Family Healing is actively hiring a Milieu Supervisor - 2nd Shift for the Southeast Regional Crisis Center (SERCC) in Rochester, MN! Pay, location, schedule:

• $50,000-55,000 salary per year
• On-site at 2121 Campus Dr SE, Rochester, MN
• Full time, 40 hours per week - 2nd shift is 3pm-11:30pm, includes some weekends

Position Summary: The Milieu Supervisor is responsible to provide trauma-informed milieu leadership and mentorship in the treatment guidance plans through effective communication, organization, and planning of the daily operations of the program and assigned unit.

Responsibilities:

• Staff Scheduling & Coverage:
  Create staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and safety. Step in to cover shifts when needed.
• Staff Oversight:
  Monitor staff performance, provide coaching and mentoring, and ensure they follow trauma-informed practices.
• Daily Operations:
  Help plan daily activities, transportation, family visits, and special events to support treatment goals.
• Documentation & Communication:
  Ensure all shift reports and client updates are completed accurately and shared with the right people.
• Client Support:
  Make sure new clients feel welcomed and their needs (clothing, food, appointments) are met promptly.
• Team Leadership:
  Assign primary staff to each youth, support staff development, and participate in hiring and training.
• Performance Management:
  Conduct evaluations, address performance issues, and work with HR and clinical leaders as needed.
• Safety & Compliance:
  Conduct safety checks, resolve issues quickly, and stay up to date on policies and required training.
• Confidentiality:
  Maintain strict privacy for all client and family information. Recognize and value cultural differences in all aspects of work and service delivery

Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a related industry.
• Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
• Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.
• Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
• Must successfully pass a DHS background check.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a clinically related field preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with clients and families preferred.
