Job summary

Tri-Arc Manufacturing in Blawnox, PA seeks Steel and Aluminum MIG Welders for 1st and 2nd shifts. Starting rates are $24.33/hr (1st) and $24.93/hr (2nd); aluminum welds earn an extra $1.00/hr premium (paid at time-and-a-half) and a path to United Steelworkers union after 520 probation hours.

Candidates must pass a welding test, bring their own welding gear, and can grow into a skilled craftsman while working in a busy, safety-conscious shop environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of MIG welding techniques; formal welding training/certification preferred but not required
• Ability to read simple blueprints and work orders (or willingness to learn)
• Must pass a welding test as part of the hiring process
• Must supply own welding gear
• Basic understanding of shop safety practices
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to heat, fumes, and noise
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
• Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together (usually in fixtures).
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts, using MIG welding equipment.
• Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
• Operates various punch presses, drill presses, shears, saws, and tube bending equipment.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
