Job summary

Weber Specialties Company in Michigan seeks a skilled welder to join our production team. You will weld metal components using electric arc-welding equipment and may work overtime including weekends. Reading blueprints and operator instructions, selecting electrodes, and adjusting voltage and amperage are essential.

You will weld in flat, horizontal, or vertical positions, inspect bead quality, clamp assemblies, and document SPC data. A safety-first mindset and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years welding experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with arc welding processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Welds metal components with electric arc-welding equipment.
• Read blueprints, job specifications, or operator instructions for product specs.
• Prepare electrodes and feed through welding gun; adjust amperage/voltage as needed.
• Strike arc and form welds with proper fusion and bead appearance.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, or vertical positions; inspect bead size and quality.
• Clean and degrease weld joints; repair damaged parts; prepare surfaces for welding.
• Complete SPC charts and document parts with micrometers and gauges.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment.
• Complete shop floor paperwork and coordinate with material handler.
