Job summary

EFCO Forming & Shoring Solutions is seeking a skilled welder to join our Des Moines manufacturing team. You will perform MIG welding on forms and weldments, operate weld fixtures, and support maintenance activities to ensure production flow remains efficient and safe.

Ideal candidates read mechanical drawings, work with aluminum and flux-core wire, and pass EFCO’s weld test. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and on-time documentation of labor and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MIG welding proficiency with flux-core and aluminum wire.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Must pass EFCO weld test.
• Experience with aluminum, high-tensile and flux-core wire.
• Familiarity with measuring tools to 1/64 inch.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG Welding for Production (35%) welding forms and structural components; operate MIG gun welders and finish welds for consistent quality.
• Build Weldments and Specials (20%) fabricate standard, SWL, and special forms with or without fixtures; interpret drawings to assemble complex parts.
• Operate Weld Fixtures and Tools (15%) use fixtures, grinders, plasma cutters, torches, and gauges for precise fabrication.
• Conduct Inspections and Audits (10%) verify weld quality and dimensions; repair defects and document results.
• Support Maintenance and Repair (10%) perform daily equipment maintenance and assist with refurbishment of returned forms.
• Record Time and Task Completion (10%) log labor in Kronos and communicate progress to team leads.
