Job summary

WEG Transformers USA in Washington, MO seeks a Welder. You will set up and operate MIG welding machines, weld 16–10 gauge mild steel, follow layout marks, read blueprints, and finish welds.

This full-time role offers overtime, a comprehensive benefits package (vacation, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, tuition reimbursement, EAP, life and disability insurance) and a pro-rated bonus plan. Safety gear is provided and 5S practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Prior welding experience.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.
• Read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches and plans.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate MIG welding machines, adjust machine and wire feed as required.
• Weld on 16 gauge to 10-gauge mild steel and finish welds.
• Work from layout marks and simple drawings.
• Use scale, square and power tools.
• Assemble and tack weld repetitive jobs, finish welds in down/vertical positions.
• Operate grinder to shape welds and inspect own work.
• Support 5S program to keep area neat and safe.
• Notify supervisor of material shortages or concerns.
