Job summary

Palmer Manufacturing & Supply, Inc. in Springfield, Ohio, is seeking a MIG welder to assemble machine frames and fabricate sheet metal parts. The role includes welding, finishing, light machining, and painting prep, using blueprints and shop equipment.

Strong attention to fit and finish, plus the ability to work from drawings, are essential. You will join a production team on the first shift with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to MIG weld on tubular and angle frames.
• Read drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
• 3-5 years in heavy fabrication (preferred).
• Pass pre-employment weld test.
• Operate shop equipment (saws, grinders, drill press, milling machine, overhead crane).
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; relocation not available; no recruiters.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties on tubular and angle machine frames.
• Weld, grind, and finish sheet metal parts.
• Use drawings, sketches, blueprints, and shop equipment to complete all phases of the product.
• Produce strong penetrated welds that are non-porous and consistent.
• Use fabrication skills to make products that meet drawing dimensions; ensure square, level, and accurate finish.
• Use drill press for holes and tapping threads.
• Organize workflow for maximum productivity of cutting, machining, welding, and packaging for shipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
